My new parts strat
I've been collecting pieces for this for a little while. The neck is an early boogie bodies that had never been drilled that I got off of craigslist a couple of years ago for $50. I had brass inserts installed in the neck. The body is I think, an '80's Tokai, I showed it to a few people that know Japanese guitars and I'm pretty sure it's sen. The body also came from craigslist, the pickguard came with it. I got the callaham strat parts package and also got an aluminum shield and blender pot and knobs from callaham. The pickups I just purchased used from a local guitar dealer/collector, he paid top dollar to some guy in England to have them wound, I'm still trying to find out the name of the guy, they are awesome! I just got the neck back today after getting the decal and a few coats of lacquer over the headstock and fingerboard. I haven't really played a strat much in the last few years, but this thing is really special. Phil

Re: My new parts strat
After reading about the inserts here and a few other places I figured I'd give it a try. I am glad that I had them installed, I've had the neck off quit a few times to adjust the truss rod and get the decal installed.yngwie308 wrote:+1 on brass inserts..![]()

I almost had to twist my repair guy's arm to get him to part with the decal, he only had a few. Phil
