Johnny Winter Live thru the 70's. Not bad. I've seen him better but cool none the less. First song is Frankenstein with a still wet behind the ears little brother on keys and drums. Interesting take, very different than the studio cut.

Funny you would ask... I just got a copy of this very DVD yesterday and watched it last night. Some clips are great and really cool for the nostalgia, but some clips have really shitty production to 'em. The 2nd song (Be Careful With A Fool) is awesome. GREAT tone from an old Epi Wilshire, and KILLER blues riffs.
Overall, I enjoyed it. He definitely had some wicked blues chops in his day.

I forgot how GREAT the studio version of "Walking By Myself" was. I jsut let that play a while before I even hit "play"!

When he was on he was def one of the best!

what speakers ?

also, what tone are you looking for ?
do you want a soft tone with loose attack and not much mids, that sort of tone but with slightly faster attack and more mids to cut through, high outpu, low output , much low end or not , much treble or not ...etc ?

Well, most guys have quite a few amps to suit whatever mood they're in. I have 8 amps ranging from a 100 watt Roccaforte Jenelle, a Blockhead 20 watt, a Metro 50 watt plexi (the very first kit issued to the public, ink penned #1 and signed by the whole Metro staff, thank you very much!!! ) and a few others in between.
Speakers vary to best exploit the amps characteristics... EVM12L's, Celestion G12-65's, Weber 30 watt Blue Dogs, Celestion G12H30's, etc.
IMO, having a few different (good) amps is even more essential than having a bunch of different guitars. A "fairly" shitty guitar can still sound good thru a decent amp, but no matter HOW good your guitar is, a shit amp will ruin it.

from my experience, i would say that having several amps / speakers and guitars is a must if you really want several good tones !
also, even if you have many amps, they won't sound real good unless you've got some good food for them ! LOL
a good amp is not sounding that great with a bad guitar or pu's .

depending on the tone you look for , there are several PAF repros available but they are all different and you got to know precisely the type of tone you look for to find the ones for you .
also, some might sound better with an amp while you might prefer an other set with another amp ... to make things a bit more complicated ! LOL
