Thanks for the post!!!

I've been waiting for word on the new EJ Strat for a while now. The bound rosewood neck on a strat is sort of an acquired taste; but, it's growing on me quickly.

Thanks to the economy, I may have to build my own version of it minus the cool colors that I understand they got directly out of Tommy Taylor's original book of Dupont paint colors. If I was dirty rotten filthy stinkin' rich, I think I'd be quite happy just buying the EJ's for my strats. All the ones I've tried have been pretty darn good, IMHO.

I have been intrigued with the graduated scallops of Ritchie Blackmore's guitar and have lot's of info, first here is one fans method of scalloping:

This one should be of interest to Outlier:

Found it the missing link!!!!

Also scalloping the RB way..cool link:

Sorry for all the links, got carried away, a lot of the Dawk stuff is conjecture, but...
Here is a fan site dedicated to the RB signature guitar:

Surprised to see the Dave Murray Strat. Hmmm . . . might need to get one of those just for kicks.

Love my EJ, and was excited about the rosewood, and the new colors are great, but a bound neck? :? I don't know if I could get used to that.

I agree, Eric has a great spec rw board guitar, then a bound neck, which are very rare,....why?? The EJ's are either love or hate, I played the original maple board and couldn't get on with it..the radius is too flat for one thing and is weird for me with a vintage shaped neck, just didn't like the one I played. But people love them that have them :) On my Malmsteen forum, they are going wild on the RB Strat, the 7.25" radius and the graduated neck is way cool, I'll just take the neck please!!
