Dave, I was reading the old forum and found that you wrote this.

Also recently the discussion was why does Fender sell the YJM signatures with the 9.5" radius, when Yngwie plays mostly 7.25"..
NO, NO, NO........ Yngwie is not playing flat 12" wizard necks like Ibanez..... Period !

As many of you know, years ago I got a chance to hold and play several of his guitars in his home and studio when we worked together.

I wish........I might have been quoting someone else. I met Yngwie in 2005, at a soundcheck in Tucson, and I probably could have checked out his guitars then, but no I haven't been to his home/studio, maybe one day who knows. By the way there have been several fully loaded YJM pickguard assemblies for sale on EvilBay a 2005 and 2006, the are asking around $395..check it out!

Man that would be a GREAT gig if Blackmore was still with Purple. Morse is a great player he just does not fit Purple, IMO.

I found cool Chinese Malmsteen links and the YG video with Yngwie's guitars!

http://74.125.95.102/translate_c?hl=en& ... uKZ2YWCo-A" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The second link is the 30 min Young Guitar video where Yngwie introduces his Strats and has some unique models!!

I discovered the Chinese Yngwie forum... 8)

Yes silverdog 25 two DVD's and that CD were announced on Amazon, but over on the unofficial Malmsteen forum, they were somewhat skeptical. The Live at Budokan DVD is a killer show, one of my favorites in fact. I have had a copy I got from Japan many years ago. The only track I don't have included is Burn which I believe was the encore, I have seen that clip on You Tube.

I will let everyone know here when some official confirmation happens about these new releases!

Hello, yngwie308,
thank you very much for the answer!
I have Live at Budokan DVD too and I love it very much! Thanks for the link, I have never seen that video (Burn ) before. Sad that we have not it on the DVD :(
But you wrote about 2!! DVD. Well I have just found the info about another one - Yngwie Malmsteen: Live Animal (2009) DVD - Live Animal - http://tinyurl.com/coasgu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , right? Do you know anything about it? I hope it will be DVD with some live songs.

So I am going to buy 1 CD and 1 DVD (just because I have got already Live at Budokan DVD). I like to order from Amazon, it is very convenient and quite cheap to me. They write that The CD/DVD will be released on March 10, 2009. Well, I'll pre-order them next week I believe :D :D

Agreed. Steve Morse in Deep Purple is like having Eric Johnson in Black Sabbath. Great player, only problem: just doesn't fit.

I always thought ol' Yngwie would've been a natural in Deep Purple. I bet he thought so too as to me, Inspiration seemed less just another CD release and more a cover letter/résumé submission.

Great analogy there John, Johnson/Sabbath. Yes, I have never been tempted to listen to Morse with DP at all.
Inspiration amazed me when I first heard it and it still has the same effect on it. I think that Yngwie is closest of anyone with Ritchie's phrasing, I do think he would have been bored being in Deep Purple any length of time though.
As Yngwie tells it he had learned Made in Japan note for note, learning the live solos as well as the studio cuts. And he got 'bored' with it and moved on his neo-classical way. I still feel Yngwie gets Ritchie's tones and phrasing better than anyone else and I particularly enjoy his Hendrix covers as well.
