Post by kwm488 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 2:23 pm

i want to use 2 fender custom shop 54 pickup and 1 dimarzio super distortion pickup. i am consider what value pots i should use in volume?

in fact, i want to use 250k for single coil and 500k for humbucker. is it possible? can i use dual pot?

also , do anyone know where can i buy ESP tremolo bar?

I think you'll be happy with either a 250k or a 500k for the volume with that set-up. I'd probably opt for the 250k myself. It'll take a slight amount off the high end of the Super Distortion, and obviously be perfect for the CS 54's.
500k will work fine too, it'll just give you a bit more highs out of the '54's, which depending on your needs, might be something cool.
The difference between a 500k and a 250k is pretty subtle, really. IMO, its nothing to worry about, thats for sure. You could use a 300k Gibson pot if you wanted to go in the middle of those 2 pot values.

Or Yamaha do a real nice quality 330K pot with a push-push dpdt switch for added versatility.

It is quite expensive though.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

Im not familiar with a pot like that from Yamaha. What does something like that cost? Overall, it might be worth it, especially with the dpdt switch. That WOULD be nice with the Super Distortion to give a single coil option in the bridge position, and it gives a nice balance with those pickups as far as the pot value is concerned.
Plus, the tone pot value can also be played around with to fine-tune the top end.
