I've been into Vs lately, dreaming about getting, making, whatever, I want a V, so I walk into the music store today to get a 3 position switch for my strat and was greated by this...

That IS nice!! Im not too much into the missing wood part, but thats a nice, unique looking guitar. If the holes dont affect the sound, I'd call it a winna for sure.
I always have it in my head though about EVH's gitar (an Explorer, I think??) where he cut a big chunk of wood out of the ass just for aesthetic purposes, and then spent all kinds of time and methods to (unsuccessfully) get back the tone he lost.

Certainly unique and it looks like the engineers at Gibson have some free time on their hands or were hanging with Ziggy Marley's band for awhile.. .
A Swiss cheese V, with even Micheal Schenker playing a Dean V at the moment, the popularity of Gibson with their V, has perhaps waned somewhat. I also wonder if it wouldn't be somewhat neck heavy, with the extra frets, plus body relief.
I admire the technology and brilliance of the young Ted McCarty with the design of this axe and the Gibson Explorer, though if so directed towards this shape I would go with a Jackson King V, as they took it to the next level.
Speaking of King V's, the late Robbin Crosby, one of the founding members of Ratt, a fact he never gets credit for, had a V made for him by Max.
This recently came up a few months ago on Evil Bay.
Sadly it was a guitar that Robbin had pawned probably for drug money and a stage pass and copy of his drivers licence was included in the auction...
