Hey thanks for posting that Martin, very sweet I must say those Tone Quest special specification ordereed guitars are legendary, having tone chambers and specially wound pickups, ect.
I was lusting after the weight relieved 1954 Les Paul Oxblood Tone Quest Edition....sweet indeed, I did save the pics of this one though..
I do love my '52/'56 Goldtop as much as any original Gibson I have played, including my awesome ex-'54 Junior!!
How much in US is this quitar?? If I had the coin I would snap it up big time believe me, my new guitar the 1993 NOS Washburn SS80 Quilt Top one only in the world, made for Steve himself, yet never delivered..to me is an expensive (for me) steal at $4.5K..  :D :D
The humbuckers allied with wraparound bridge= HUGE TONE!!!

Hey Dave, I really enjoyed reading about the whole Pigtail stuff, that's why I was thinkin' of you here. The price of this used TQ Goldtop was about as much as you pay for a new R8 - which goes for about 2800 € here. That would be about 3600 USD at the time.

If you'd have only one Les Paul - like Greeny - would you go for a wraparound or for the normal setup?

I would have to say for my taste, which may be off center somewhat, that I like wraparound bridges with a maple top and humbuckers, maybe even better than an ABR-1 set up. I do prefer P-90's these days for Les Pauls.. :)

Thanks Martin, I love my Goldtop more than my '54 Juniors, which is saying something, but the GT is more flexible and the neck pickup.. :D :D
