See a pic in myspace photos, theres a perfect burst recreation. The one with him grabbing a red strato and a korina V too.

I hear there is a 'mystery' builder in England at the moment who produces spot on '59 Bursts, somewhat pricey but as close to the real thing as the copies favored by Slash in the G n' R days, Max and Derrings..
His identity is a secret to most, but guys like Tom Witterock and other Burst authorities know who he is..

Dave

Got any pointers to examples of his work?

Being that I'm in England (and assuming he's nothing to do with MG!) I'd be interested to know more.

Paul, I'll try to find out from LPF with discreet inquiries.

another good source...

just let him know what you want; I'd imagine he'd do everything except put the logo on it. I got to jam on a 59 Korina "Flying V" copy he did that I could still kick myself for not buying...best guitar I've ever heard.

As far as replacing you jubilee, I'd recommend you send a Metro build to this guy to get your "Slash Sound"; AFIAN, Slash used a Caswell modded Marshall on "AFD" and a high quality Led Paul Copy.

Man it would be nice to have enough money to be that fussy about my Les Paul specs.
I have a Honeyburst Les Paul Classic from 2001 with stock pups, I love it to death.
I think I got lucky and got a "good one" because everybody likes it's sound and it is much nicer than all other classics I've played in the shops.

On topic, I suprised that the VOS range isn't authentic enough you.
I used to have a custom shop LP that was supposed to be my ulitmate les paul, is it had less classic LP mojo than even my old Ibanez copy I had back in '88.
Somebody mentioned Heritage Guitars, Gary Moore used them for a bit, I hadn't heard anything about them for decades.

I always thought that Gibson had stockpiled good old wood that they use for extra special builds.

slashsound wrote:I'm looking to get a new Les Paul, but I want something that is dead on to a '59 ...todays gibsons dont cut it...they have no brazilian rosewood, the binding doesnt follow the curvature of the maple top its just flat lined... there is fret edge binding (which '59s dont have) , the wood isnt dried the same way...etc etc etc. I was hoping some of you could PM or something letting me know who can make an exact copy with really good materials and make the guitar exactly as it was in 1959. Thanks, you guys are good people, even the ill tempered ones.
