I picked up a Marstran OT for my JTM-45 clone (I got the 784-103 OT he offers). I'm one of the crazy ones who prefers 6L6s in a JTM-45, rather than KT66s.
Do I need to do anything different as far as wiring the OT up if I plan to use 6L6s?

Got the same answer from Brian when I posted the question on the Marstran forum. So that's what I did. Loaded it up with a pair of old blackplate RCAs, and it sounded amazing.
I was practicing last night with the band that is doing the Halloween show performing as REM, so I didn't get onto the crunch zone much, but hot damn the cleans were absolutely stellar. Chimey highs, rich lows and mids.... It sounds like a whole new amp compared to the way it sounded with the Weber OT.

REM wouldn't be my first choice... But it's a cool gig at the best club in town on one of the biggest party weekends of the year. They get a bunch of local bands who each perform as some big name band. We played there last year and the place was a total mob scene. It was also our biggest payday of the year...flemingmras wrote:Now that's some scary shit in itself...Michael Patrick wrote:I was practicing last night with the band that is doing the Halloween show performing as REM...![]()
