Heck, If a schematic for the Fender Tremolo is available (and I'm sure its out there someplace), it should be adaptable to the Metro Board? This would be a great way to work the P-to-P Upgrade for the BB RI!

Precisely my thoughts...and the reason I took on the project. :D

If you could provide a layout on how to adapt the Fender trem to the Metro board, that would be great. Please consider it.

If someone could direct me to what software people are using to create layouts it would make it easier for me to make graphical layouts for this occasion.

Now that being said, in order to adapt the layout to a Metro BBRI board and make it look neat and professional, some turrets would have to be relocated. The MetroAmp brand terminals are real easy to install...just drill a 3mm hole in the board with a drill press, then use a bigger drill bit to press the new terminal in. It SHOULD BE just as easy to use the drill press to press the terminals out of the unneeded current locations without damaging them so that they can be relocated, but I have not tested this yet to verify so don't quote me on it yet.

This whole project is a work in progress and will require some different parts...as soon as I have the final product and have tested the Fender trem circuit in the BBRI with successful results, I will create the modified layout and release it to those who want it, as well as offer the "additional needed parts" kit for this mod.

Well we're making headway with the BBRI. I've got most of the resistors on the board and am waiting on the Sozo Mustard Vintage caps we're putting in this thing.

She's getting the Mercury Magnetics Radiospares RS DeLuxe clone OT wired up to the 6.8K taps on the primary, along with a change to F&T 32+32uF and 16+16uF filter caps and MM OJ45C-7H choke. Also, most of the resistors will be carbon comps along with our Wilder custom made P2P board with the layout to accommodate the Fender LDR coupled tremolo circuit.

Formed the filter caps last night and got the board about 3/4 of the way done minus the Sozo caps, which should be here by Saturday. Also wired up the bias supply and tested it, and we're fully functional there with a bias adjust range of -45 to -57 VDC, which should be perfect for the pair of KT66s that are going in it.

Well the BBRI build with the Fender Blackface trem circuit is finished and I must say MAJOR improvement over the stock trem. No abnormal noises and it doesn't even have the familiar "ticking" sound found in a lot of Blackface Fenders.

I'm working on drafting the new layout as well as making the new boards available. Should be completely finished and ready for ordering in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

This circuit uses different Speed & Intensity pots than the stock BBRI values and the holes in the chassis will have to be enlarged 1/16" as well as the knobs replaced with setscrew Marshall knobs. Also, the inside of the knob will have to be slightly enlarged as well to fit onto the new pots since the pots that had to be used were CTS pots. I have the old pots that I pulled out of the customer's amp and will be sending them to Alpha to see if they can make me the exact same pot, but with the required values for the new trem circuit.

Hi guys I've got a BB on the bench that will be getting a full MM tranny upgrade, I was also thinking of swapping the board to PTP with the Fender trem mod, would it be possible to receive a wiring layout & schematic including the fender trem and also where to find the right board and parts for the whole upgrade?

thanks

Hello All, I also have a similar bad experience with the Bluesbreaker kit installed in my BB reissue- my tremolo makes a lot of noise (as described by Marsh Hall) and I have already spend a lot of time an money to trying to fix it (including with a French tube amp specialist ) - he was not able to solve the issue ... If someone comes up with any solution, including adapting a Fender Tremolo, I would be extremely interested in getting a description of what needs to be done - circuit draft ect ... today I had to unplug the tube that runs the tremolo to avoid having this painful humm .... it breacks my heart!!!

I use Illustrator for all my layout/panel work, which interestingly enough includes the BBRI board up on the Metro wiki:

http://metroamp.com/wiki/index.php/Blue ... ssue_board" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's also what Dan (Billy Batz) used on all his layouts. Others use Coreldraw. The good thing about using a vector app as it's mathematically-based so you can scale everything without worrying about pixel issues and it prints clearer. It also tends to be easier to edit when drawing wires since you're using bezier curves/handles. There is a bit of a learning curve though, if unfamiliar. On another note, MS-Visio seems to be popular with the Dumble crowd and their layouts.
