Pup with Wolfgang
Just wanted to touch base with someone who owns a Wolfgang. I would like to change my bridge pup. Currently I have a Tone Zone in there and I am not quite sure if I like it. What other pups are people using that go good with a Wolfgang. I play high gain rock.

Did you ever change out your pickup? I'm thinking about doing the same thing with my Wolfgang.

I swapped out the stock pickups from my wolfgang to Rio Grande BBQbucker/Texas combo, But I kept the stock pickups. You will have to modify the legs to match the stock pickup and the height, The legs are similar to duncan but as you know the dimarzio works directly.
I think the Tone Zone is my second choice for basswood/maple top and maple neck guitars, I have one in an alder strat and maple neck and it kills. You could try all sorts of pickups but you would like the Rios if you have the tone zone but not a whole lot of difference there, The Rios are like PAF on super steroids except its not really high output but right on the edge with a bigger tone.
Another pickup for the bridge that would rip is a PJMarx blade style called the stilletto or blackjack but you would have to do some searching as they have been out of production since the early 90s.
I think it really depends on your taste and the rig you are using, like if you have a Marshall that dosen't have quiet enough gain then the Rio would push it up over the top.

Can the Tone Zone give you a nice, warm classic rock sound? I thought it was designed for heavier, metal type of sound. My amp gives me more than enough gain, so I'm not super concerned about the pickup pushing it further, I just want something with less of the razor edge and grain that the stock Wolfgang pups seem to get.
