Superbass V1 Cathode Capacitor value
Has someone tried changing the 330uf V1 cap on a Superbass to 250uf while leaving everything else stock? Would it tighten the low end noticeably? I figured that the difference between the two would be insignificant but I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Virtually no audible difference in these cap sizes there. You need to decrease to <10uF (some would say lowerThunderOne wrote:Has someone tried changing the 330uf V1 cap on a Superbass to 250uf while leaving everything else stock? Re: Superbass V1 Cathode Capacitor value
people are very specific about their electrolytic caps but tend to forget that the old caps varied a lot, often from -10% to +90% on the bigger caps

Re: Superbass V1 Cathode Capacitor value
You guys have me thinking about changing my V-1 cap to a 10uF. I changed my Lead amp to Bass specs and love it except for the fact that I can't run the Bass pot up past 2 or 3. I don't want to lose any beef but would like to keep it from woofing out.

Re: Superbass V1 Cathode Capacitor value
10uf will loose beef. try to decrease the v1 coupling cap instead. try .01 or even .0047
