Hey guys I have a beautiful explorer that gibson made for me. I got it about a year ago. It was plecked and the action was superb. In the last 2 months or so the action is creeping up as you go up the neck.
I know i need to take it to a luthier but was wondering what would cause that? Just the neck settling in? Its never been temp abused.
I also have a standard explorer the same age and that one is just fine.
Just trying to understand what going on, so i dont sound like an idiot when i take it in.
Thanks
RR

Re: Neck issue
Probably due to the drier weather as humidity decreases wood shrinks and your guitar is relatively new so it probably dried out a fair amount. Do you have a humidifier and a gauge if not I would get one. and try to keep the humidity around 50% and it should keep seasonal adjustments to a min. You guitar probably just needs a truss rod adjustment.

Re: Neck issue
As a guitar setlles in, the neck join can creep a little. That's why its always best to leave a little wiggle room (fallaway) when building the neck. That way, it only plays better with time.

Re: Neck issue
I'm sure all it needs is a trus rod adjustment. As seasons change the humidity changes, shrinking and expanding the wood. I have guitars, like clockwork Spring and Fall, need trus rod adjustments to keep the neck staight. It's normal.
