21 is gonna be a good year

Post by spaceace76 » Fri Mar 26, 2010 5:55 pm

So i turned 21 today. Though I have drank before it's not really my thing, i think partially because i don't like the taste of most alcohol.

What are everyone's favorites? just looking for a few suggestions to try out :mrgreen:

Oh, man... I cant steer you down THAT road. Its just not right.
:? :?

Lightweight: 20% vodka, 60% cranberry juice, 20% pineapple juice... AKA, a Bay Breeze.

Heavyweight: 15% vodka, 15% gin, 15% tequila, 15% rum, 15% triple sec, 20% sour mix (or lemon juice) and 5% (or a splash ) of Cola... AKA the infamous Long Island Ice Tea... Ask Chief... he knows about 'em.

My 21st b-day we had a big party. Drank eight kegs of beer. There's video but I'm not sharing :lol: Fun times, fun times

Back then we could drink beer at 18-years old, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I would try some English Stouts. They are kind of an acquired taste, but they are just freaking awesome.

happy birthday space :wink:
2 of my favourites suggestions

---->cointreau +goyave juice + slice of lemon + ice

because it's very tasty , in case you wanna be drunk lightly this is the shit .

---->absinthe

cuz i consider it's effect as different from all other drinks ...the others make you feel heavy and ....puky? is that what you say :lol: with absinthe all your senses are wide open , you breathe better and all .....when i wanna be drunk as hell that's what i take , can't stand vodka at all , and cheap drinkable whisky simply doesn't exist :shock:

though don't mix the two suggestions :lol:

enjoy bud !

ps ; if you wanna stick with the basics , margheritas and gin tonic just kick ass then

For beer:

Boddington's Pub Ale
Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale
Marstons Oyster Stout (very dark, as WOT wrote, an acquired taste)
Youngs Double Chocolate Stout (once again, dark, but uber delicious)

Gotta drink em all out of a proper pint glass, or the experience won't be the same. And make sure they're nicely chilled!

For hard stuff:

Bacardi 8 and Coke, with a wedge of lime, adjust the rum quantity to suit your tastes, you can always add more but you can't take any out. Substitute most nice aged Rums, I'm just partial to the Bacardi. I'm also one who prefers amber rums as opposed to white, they impart more flavour.

Gin and tonic, once again with a wedge of lime. Great summer drink, or when you need something refreshing. I'd use either Tanqueray or Bombay Sapphire for gin. Better to drink well than to drink lots.

Rye and Coke. I'm Canadian, so I'm not sure what brands are around south of the border. I drink Wisers Small batch or Crown Royal, depending on my mood.

If you're looking to get a little sloppy....

The Infamous Irish Car Bomb: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Car_Bomb" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Happy Birthday man, drink responsibly. I'm only 19, so I haven't been partaking legally for very long, but I've had my share of sloppy nights.

OK I've got another one for you. A friend of mine created it in the 1980s - called a "wounded dragon"

Use a jigger glass. It's a layered shot, so when you get sloppy drunk it gets harder to make. (Layer sizes are recommended - we also did 1/4, 1/4 and 1/2 with the rum)

1/3 Layer #1: Grenadine
1/3 Layer #2: Midori
1/3 Layer #3: Bacardi 151

Once shot is "constructed" light the 151 on fire, let warm for a couple of seconds, then slam shot. DO NOT BREATHE IN when drinking this shot. The results are not good. Take it from someone who did. :lol:
