Ebay, Grrrr!

Post by Kendall915 » Sat Aug 07, 2004 6:12 pm

Kendall is peeved.

I order a shirt from a guy on e-bay 4 weeks ago. It takes awhile to get here, the shirt was supposed to be a large, I got sent an extra large. I e-mail the guy 3 seperate times with no response (I gave him 2 weeks to do so). His auction said that if wrong item is shipped, he will provide a refund.

I leave negative feedback, saying seller sent wrong item, didn't respond to e-mail.

Today I learn he re-negative feedback'd me saying I was a lair, theif and fraud, then went to claim that he tried to negotiate something with me but I was unreasonable with demands. (which is funny, because well, there were NO negotiations, no contact, no anything).

I love ebay, but this really ticks me off. There are a lot of quality sellers and buyers on ebay, and then the occasional asshats...

That sucks! It's a shame that the folly of Ebay isn't Ebay itself, but the people who abuse it.

Sorry to hear you got shucked.

Do you ever have trouble with people when you sell on ebay?

I've been pretty lucky. I try to only buy from people who sell lots of items with good feedback, or to communicate with the seller a lot before buying things like amps.

I bought a Pabst Blue Ribbon shirt, for example, from a guy who sells hundreds of shirts at a time.

As always, caveat emptor- buyer beware.

Fortunately, you can sell your wrong size shirt and mention the bad transaction in the item description.

I shrank the shirt, so its all for naught now... but i was wondering about your selling experience because I have a few items i've been thinking about listing on there.

As for the PBR, thats wonderful. Fortunate or not, its becoming a very popular beer, a friend of mine in DC says its all the rage at bars, and at a trendy bar in Grand Rapids, they always have dollar PBR's on draft, and its their best seller.

Long live the vintage polo!
There were two people walking down the street. One was a musician. The other didn't have any money either.
