we used to have only one significative and very talented rock band but now ..... zero..... nada
( some will say controversial band/singer ok but i personally don't care , plenty of satan devotion based iconology everywhere in various rock bands but no ones notice nor gives a whisper against it ,wonder why we should drag down in the mud good music for an incident while drunk.... shivers it gives speak for their tue talent , so i had to put it high on the screen ) we'll miss you guys .....

thats a really cool song, love his guitar tone on that one - the chord progression is really eerie.

J'ai jamais entendu parler de ces musiciens, très. Nice sound, cependant. Ils me rappellent le groupe "Live". Pourquoi ont-ils diviser?

yep plenty of good heavy metal and rock band where i live , i don't deny , but they don't get any media coverage at all .... above all hidden talent there's in any country there are also magic bands that seems to grab equally as well all the faces of the diamond of artistic creation and noir desir was one of this rare kind ,their lyrics were so MASSIVELY worked in such a poectic way that it's really one of a kind in the rock genre to me and the osmosis between the musicians to create ambiances was just amazing ... it's really the band of a whole generation here !

fill : don't worry you're french is real good :lol: ( though i think i'll coach you on the french slang one day , just remind me of soon , gonna have to give you a list of expressions ) ...
if you wan't an explanation about the split , bertrand cantat the singer supposedly killed accidentally his (well known here) actress common law wife while they both were high on alcool after she was filmed for her latest film , they were a very passionate couple , the aftermath of this is that bertand made his time in prison for 5-6 years i believe and was released for good behaviour , but whereas he reformed the band soon after his jail time , mediatic pressions / public bashing of the singer ( it was kinda strange that this singer had to suffer so much of the medias since the star system in france is so infiltrated with coke addicts and other shit to me , we even have a comic who killed another guy to steal his jacket in his young age and no one gave a shit in the medias , perhap's bertand's political opinions played a role ? i guess ) , and suicide of bertrand 's ex wife not so long ago ( it was her who helped him to swim back to the surface since even if he was coupable or not it was obvious he was devastated by his common law wife loss ) put a premature end to this ...sadly the guitarist announced yesterday that he was leaving the band and not so long after the drummer made the same announcement ... they said it was because of disagreements with the singer but i don't believe it since they were in the middle of the making of a new album which would have made them earn so much more shitloads of money they could have never earned with any other project .... as a simple guitarist or drummer who hasn't worked since 6 years of bertrand's prison time you just don't spit on money like this even for a big disargeement it just doesn't make sense :|

Man, this is bittersweet for me, because I've never heard of them. Thanks for getting me out from under my rock!
I really, REALLY dig the sometimes dissonant orchestration. And those Vox combos sound great! GREAT Strat tone there.
I was so fascinated, I ended up watching more, and reading a bunch of press, etc. (bad idea) and one bit talked about his release, and someone likened Bertand to Rimbaud... cool enough.
They are definitely on the poetic side of rock.
I dunno, again, bittersweet. I'm a new fan of a dead band.
Such high art contrasted with such a base act in that murder thing. "Hey, I was drunk...oops" :shock: "and the old wife couldn't take it anymore" :what:
You gotta point when so much crap goes on everywhere and they gotta single Bertrand out. But if they were France's biggest band for a decade or more, he's gonna get singled out!
It's too bad.
... like you said, if the guitarist and drummer are going to spit on that kind of money (after not doing anything for six years?), it must be for a reason. I don't think the pressure of the press alone would kill that hunger. There has to be more driving their decision.

Man, that sucks. It seems that once the freedom of big money and fame start creeping into a musicians life, all hell breaks loose. I dug their music... thanks for turning us onto it!! A lot of times, European bands dont get the recognition in the states that they deserve.
Lots of musical casualties out on Highway 61!!

no prob you're welcome ...but in fact man the situation is sooo worse than just not beeing recodnized anywhere else than in france exclusively , if it was just for that it wouldn't matter so much.... even in their top fame which was essentially caused by a huge word of mouth phenomenon noir desir didn't even showed up on french tv too much as well , because ya know poor techno house music crap is sooo much more suitable for tv , and you never know what a somehow "rebel" artist which possess a relatively operationnal brain can possibly say of interest before a song during a direct broadcast :roll: makes me sick
ok it was also a whish from the whole band cuz playing intense songs beeing introduced by stupid animators between two corn flakes commercials wasn't really their cup of tea and i understand that pretty well , but i mean quazi no gig recorded were programmed even late at night .... :bang: i mean the guys sold millions of albums ............. but under the radar :| damned tv producers .... one day someone will have to go get them a brain somehow . :|

a few selected pieces for the road guys , cuz you seem to like ;

if you're more into the heavy field there's mass hysteria too ;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Z8FY11 ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

not bad at all , though not all of their songs are heavy , they seem to like composing one or two party-rock song at times ..
still to me it's quite conventionnal heavy rock , ya know this kinda infectious grooves-ish - slayer-ish fusion everyone seems to do cuz it's quite convenient not to go the extra mile to make something really unique ... but they clearly have a giant ball when giging

and last but not least
