Good Guitar Shops

Post by kdmay » Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:43 am

I am travelling to Europe and the US on business in the 3rd and 4th week of Jan (I am an Aussie) and wanted to get recommendations on some guitar shops in the following areas (I assume I will be staying close to hear as these are where the offices are):

Michigan Zip 48158 and LA Zip 90620

I will be a little pressed for time (2 days Michigan and 3 days LA), but it wouldn't be a trip if I didn't come back with something now would it!!

I am due to build another 50 watter (this time with a clean and 3 gain stager, in addition to a stock 1987), so perhaps I could just bring the parts back in my suitcase...... :?:

You'll be about an hour from elderly instruments in Lansing, mi... One of the best shops around... great selection of Vintage guitars and amps... http://elderly.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

90620 is Buena Park I live 7 miles from there. What kind of parts are you looking for? I have tones of components. I might be able to pick you up and show you around.

That's a cool shop - I've already earmarked a strat I'd like!! Might need to make the journey.....

That's really generous!! I may even take you up on that. Cheers

I'm after bits to build another 1987 - this one will have some channel switching, but it will start with a stock spec 1987. Sold on the Marstrans iron and PEC pots, but that's about it at this stage. Definitely interested in what you have....
