Well...thanks, but I can't take any credit 'cept for a pickup swap.

Whoa! Details...the pickguard? (looks excellent!), brass nut, eyehooks, tuners (Divebomb?),the tremolo(Divebomb as well?), did you paint it? The "moustache" is the most difficult part and it came out really good! (The SRV looks good as well!)

No really...lol. It's all Divebomb work honest. I put in a DSD that was it. It sounds and plays killer. Oh...the tremolo is vintage style Fender.

I think that is as close to Ed's Nov. '77 to early '79 Franky as I've ever seen.

Divebomb is getting better !

Divebomb body, neck and pickguard... with a sacrilegious Floyd installed!

And just in case you believe a Floyd "neuters a whole lot of tone"...

Here's one I put together from a squier strat. Nothing special but it looks cool and is fun to play.

Excellent paint job...almost everybody screws up the "moustache" yet you and jimi and a very few others really got it right! Really nice! YAY STANDARD TREM!

Dont get me wrong. I like a Floyd Rose tremelo too, but for the way that I play and for the way that I hear early Ed, the vintage 6 screw retains that 'boingy' rubber band kind of elastic stretching sound, when using the bar. Also when just riffing (that first 'A' chord in Eruption' just doesnt ring right with a floyd) or soloing, there is sound that is more 'dynamic' with the Fender bridge.

Still, if playing 'Mean Street' or any other track from that point on where Ed was using the Franky, then a Floyd Rose does that sound better (especially the tremelo licks, like the end of Mean Street;, Beat It or 'Drop Dead Legs' as an example) A Fender 6 screw cant do that stuff.

I completely agree with you. To me it is not a case of "better" or "worse", just the right tool for the right job...

Excellent stuff flex5150! You know I love the "5150"...I just got my dream neck from Musikraft for my old Kramer Striker 100ST and I am really excited...What are the specs on your "5150"? Where were the parts sourced, pickup, etc.?

Is that a real Fender Frankenstrat in the case?

Right on Garb the 5150 is the grail for me and damn if it isnt the hardest to replicate, that paint you guys use is diff to ours its way hard to get the wear authentic on the horns where the grey tape was.

Its a KNE Alder body (looking at the no bozo pics the grain suggests ash but I like alder) with a heap of sanding around the upper horn to round it out , and a MK neck off the bay 1/5/8 nut mod C med jumbos 6105.
Pup is a 78 duncan, Old school 80's FR (i have about 10 old school "made in germany" 1 liners if anyone needs one)( Made in W Germany M6 minis) people say Gotohs but I have another 4 sets of these laying around so I'll use them.
This week Ill be putting the worn lacquer on the neck I drilled out the holes in the heal today.

Its a real head F#@k doing the body .Use enamel paint and put the tape on it while its only tack dry will help the relic finish

Good luck if you do one Bro. post the pics up.

No the franky is my "Complete boot leg" I had the case made and ripped off all the candy too from Hi res copies. Its not for sale just for my self satisfaction that I could put the whole thing together for about $3000. Just got to paint the VH on the case then its finished.
BTW I have anoth 4 anvil logos if anyone is a stupidly obsessed as me.
Heres some better pics
