Yes, it is still available and the price is somewhat negiotable. It is a very fair price considering condition, history (virtually one owner, we bought it from our friend the original owner and have put very little miles on it since, and the asking price is less than Kelly blue book). I mean, you WOULD have to give him your email address to make a PayPal payment, but there is just something about this that doesnt sound quite right. Ya hate to walk away from a potential sale, but its certainly worse to walk away from a scam without your bike OR your money. Someone will buy it eventually, and if this guy wants it bad enough, he'll figure out a way to have someone come by and pay in cash.
(Obviously, have a few "big boys" there with you just in case shit goes wrong).

My father in law got ripped off for $7500 on EBAY, no less, for a car that didnt exist. It was supposed to be delivered on "X" date, and it just never showed up. Almost a year later, he's STILL battling everyone and their fukkin' mother for his money.

(Well, he IS Sicilian, after all. You rip off a Sicilian?? "Qualcuno sta andando morire di una morte dolorosa per questo").

even if he IS on the level (he hasn't asked for anything you wouldn't have to provide anyway, if you went the paypal route) it's an awful lot of trouble to go through and you can be easily ripped off in this situation, as you well know.

besides, paypal would take a cut of that and then you'd have to transfer it to your bank account, which would take 3-4 days and you can only do $500 max per month, or you can request a check for $1.50

bike sounds like it's priced to sell from your emails. don't think you need to worry about this poor sea-stranded SOB.

Didn't even read past the marine at sea crap.... Reviewed craigslists scams years ago, and I swear, half of them started with that sentence. No offense to our fine marines, but they've been used by scumbags for scams for years. Like I said, The first 2 sentences are the form letter for scam. Perhaps it's not, but I believe the Central bank of Ethiopa has unclaimed millions of yours, if you just send them a few measly thousand dollars....

I got that exact same email when trying to sell a car on CL. It's amazing that there are so many maritime engineers out there buying really expensive things for their brothers-in-law. The sad part is that I'm sure this has worked on some people...

Seriously?? The same email?? Wow!! Either a group of people are running the same scam, or one guy is REAL busy with this shit.

Somewhere in the investigation with the rip-off that happened with my father in law, it was discovered that the person(s) responsible have been working the same fake car sale rip with a lot of people. It appears that whoever cooked up this scheme was funneling the money overseas.

That kinda shit is no joke, with terrorism looming large in the world.
