Caught the theives who broke into my sons room

First off let me say that I despise someone who would steal from a friend. It's a pet peave of mine. It's one thing to steal, many upstanding adults have stolen when they were a kid, but to do that to a friend is low. Even mafia people have a loyalty code. To me this a serious character flaw.

So anyways my 17 year son who has finally had his intestons reconnected, and colostome bag removed is finally starting to have a normal life after a year of hell...many months in the hopital with numerous catscans, drains, that saw this 5'10" boy get down in the low 90lb range and on the verge of death had his $2000 Warmoth guitar that I helped him order, that he got while he was in the hospital last Christmas stolen, his gaming computer stolen, and his XBOX stolen by a so called friend (named Michael) that had been invloved in the stealing of his bike years ago. I was furious that his mom let him hang with this kid after that (see pet peave). There was another kid named Tyler who was alos involved. He has a record for B&E. He is roomate with Michael and on the short list of people who knew how to get into my son's room, and what was there.

Michael the theif texts hims and asks, 'what you doing?" When my son says, "I'm at my girlfriends", they crawl in his window and clean him out. Then the same kid (who isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer), sends him another text after the deed is done detailing what he doing (like an alibi) 40 minutes later.
Can he be more of a Captain Obvious??

This happened about 20 days ago, and there are fingerprints. The ironic thing is the day before this kid ripped off my son's stuff from his room, I was talking on the phone with my son when I found out this Michael theif was in the car with him. I blew a gasket, and said what the hell are you doing with this kid. He was involved with the stealing of your bike years ago, and I went into my usual speech about how if I was still married to his mom and living there, he would have never been allowed to hang out with this kid again, and how I despise someone who would steal from a friend. Ok so now the cool part.

The theives (Michael and Tyler) had an apartment, and they have been trying to act innocent but they would never tell me son where they lived. Turns out Michael moved out, and my son was texting Tyler this morning trying to find out the new address where Michael is and this dip shit Tyler sends a text back to my son (meant for Michael) stating, "We need to get all this stolen shit out of my place" The cops are their now. They have the computer and the XBox. Not sure if they have the guitar yet.

When I started this thread yesterday I was happy and enjoying the scent of justice. But shortly after that post my son was attacked by a friend of Michael and Tyler named Brian. Tyler's girlfriend who must have been mad that her boyfriend and Michael just got busted was driving Brian down the street, and they saw my son, the car door flew open, and this kid Brian jumped him from behind, and my son ended up in the hospital with a "light" concussion, and a big knot on his forehead.

The last thing my son heard before the attack was her yelling, "get him". A good Samaritan saw the whole thing happen, and broke it up, and a report was made. I don't know if Brian was arrested. My son, Tyler, and Brian are all 17 and in the 12th grade, but Michael is 18. I heard that Michael and Tyler were picked up by the cops yesterday over the theft.

I'm glad my son didn't get hit in the stomach, or he could have died. It hasn't even been 2 months since his reversal surgery to reconnect his stomach. He is not at full strength. He didn't even have a chance.

My ex and I got divorced 4 years ago and I don't get a lot of say so over there. I can say whatever I want, but I don't live there and it carries no weight, and it's frustrating. If we still were married, he would have never been allowed to be associated with Michael after the bicycle incident years ago. And I know that none of these fuckers would even think about breaking into the house If my crazy Italian ass was living there. What I would give to have been there waiting for them as they came through the window, but I have no control of this situation. It angers me, it makes me feel guilty. I wish I could have 5 minutes alone with these pieces of shit, and it scares me what I might do if our paths cross.

They released my son from the hospital after Xrays were taken last night. He's kinda loopy and not making sense. My son is very smart. Straight A's, calculus by the 7th grade, and AP classes. I'm praying he doesn't get any brain damage.
He has a lot of great friends, and he has learned a horrible lesson the hard way.

I'm feeling very violent right now. Going to go work out.

one thing's for sure, you can't fix stupid, no matter how hard you try. hope that brian kid gets picked up and hauled off too.

come to think of it, if these kids were aware of his surgery and the possibility of causing serious damage to your son, wouldn't that be construed as attempted murder?

4 years down the line after mine, I'm still as weak as anything. My arms have built back well, and my lifting strength is fine, but all the muscles in my torso seem strained. Some people just don't seem to response well to loop ileostomy surgery, and I suspect I may well be one.
Tell your son to not be complacent when his healing period is up (he'll probably still feel pretty wretched for a good couple of months yet). I was too nervous about working my muscles once I was healed, but then I contantly had some odd 'pulling' pains at unusual times.

Hope you're son is mending well, and able to find some cover from these scumbags. I really do lose faith in humanity when reading things such as this. I can't believe that people have the nature that they can actually 'work' people like this. But then I've always had a nose for bullshitters and arseholes, and tend to steer well clear, or just treat them with due respect.

Here's looking forward to a satisfactory resolve to situation, regardless of the 'how'

It would feel great to take the law into my own hands, but that's just a quick gratification that would end up with me in jail, and my career over. One good thing about me not living so close, is that it prevents me from doing that. No, I'm going to let the law handle these dumb criminals. They basically gift wrapped this case for the police, and a nice stay at the gray bar hotel will be much worse than being my victim in a retaliatory beat down. Letting me vent here, and getting support from you guys has helped me calm down and do this right. Thanks it's has helped.

I got a call from the cop who was called to the scene of the beat down and he told me how it went down.
Fucking broke my heart to hear this

Brian was in the car with Tyler's girlfriend (one of the thieves who was arrested), and they saw my son walking down the street. He jumped out, and jumped him from behind as she yelled, "get him", and he said, "Mother Fucker I'm gonna fuck you up for getting my friends arrested" something to that affect, while the girl in the car is yelling "fuck him up". My son got slammed pretty hard face down on his forehead, blacked out and was getting kicked in the neck when the Good Samaritan who saw the whole thing from his car jumped out and broke up the whole thing. Then Brain ran away when he knew the cops were on their way. This passerby (who I want to hug and thank) told the cops the attack was unprovoked, and the cops went looking for Brian to arrest him, but since they couldn't find Brian at his house, the cop had to file his report at the end of his shift. Once that happens you can't arrest until the state attorney's office presses charges (which should be today) Then a warrant will be issued.

So Brian was at school yesterday...smug...and smiling, while my son was getting more xrays and tests. The cop told me, "good let him think he got away with it, becasue he is going to be arrested for misdemeanor battery" (which could be upgraded to felony if the injures merit)....This will probably happen today becasue the State Attorney's office files these warrants on Wednesdays and Fridays.

But here's the kicker.... And I love this part.

The Detectives on the theft case are going to tie the 2 cases together, and this POS Brian is going to also get charged with Intimidating a Witness which is a Felony. WOW that is a serious crime!

The other 2 are getting nailed for breaking and entering when people are in the house-----> Felony
And For Grand Theft----------> Felony

As far as the parents go: I feel sorry for them. This kid went to go live with his mom and step dad in New York, (we were so glad when he left), but came back after he broke his step dad's nose. His parents are probably wondering how much this is going to cost them. After he get's arrested, I'm going to talk to the DA, and possibly find a good personal injury attorney to get compensated for all the medical, and whatever else my son is entitled to under the law. If I can get this in the form of restitution in the criminal case, that's fine, and I won't need to file a civil case.

They found his Computer, Xbox, and Camera. One of the kids already confessed to stealing all that. But the $2000 guitar was not recovered, and the kid is denying that he took it. They probably already sold it and are trying to avoid another charge, and protect who else was involved.
