I'm all over it..
I don't have the DVD, but i have the audio that is up on iTunes.
Beck has been my main man since for ever.
I got to see him for the first time a couple of years back here in New Zealand.
I've had tickets to go see him a couple of times in the past and had to bail for various reasons, so it was like the great relief to actually get into my seat and have him walk out on stage.
He was using JTM45's, or maybe 1987's with a couple of twins.
It was the Vinnie, Tal line up.
Truly awesome. Unbelievable control of every aspect of the instrument from fingers, playing dynamics, tone pots, volume, to amp/feed back.

There is a live at BB Kings that is also pretty cool as well.

Well that makes a handful of us here who appreciate the guys talent...

Been into JB ever since an old guitar teacher played me Jailhouse Rock off the Truth LP. Monster bass playing by Ronnie Wood, ten times heavier then Zep 1.

JB's the only guitar hero from the day that actually has continually evolved over the 40+ years he's been at it.

Seen him a bunch of times in various incarnations and NEVER disappointed. Actually met him a couple of years ago in Pomona after the Rock & Roll Party show. He was quite cordial.

True.. except i would put John Paul Jones in there along with quite a big bit of robert plant and david bowies work.
JPJ especially has done some very cool out there work that kind of gets lost as its not exactly easy listening or even rock or poptastic..

Totaly...
But then again, he was relevent to now way back then, and he is probably relevent to 20 years from now right now.
If that isn't to complicated..
I think some people don't quite get him.
They watch him and his fingers don't fly all over every where, and so they read that as not very good.
But really, its not his left hand where the majic is..
Its his use of every aspect of the electric guitar..
every part of it is used to create tone.
:worthy: to the beckster!!

Sorry for the slight hijack, but RP was mentioned... this Robert Plant gem was released in 2005... I first heard it while waiting for a plane in JFK... love it.

Your preaching to the choir, Homebelly. My sentiments exactly. monk was worried about geting creamed you should see what I would get if I posted this on the EVH thread...

Guys who call themselves guitar players that don't appreciate Beck had their growth stunted at tapping....

One of my favorite Plant things was the Honeydrippers LP. Good Rockin at Midnight and who pulls off a dead on sax sounding break? The feller himself in question, JB! Yet another mode, genre expertly handled. And of course, a pretty Greensleeves on the Truth LP as well.

It was a blast meeting him, fill but it was over in a flash. I really wish I had time to shoot the shit with him. He was cool, his people were aholes. They said he would only sign ticket stubs or merchandise that you bought at the show. I said to him "Jeff, I know the rules but would you sign the pickguard from my Oxblood LP (as I pulled it out of my pocket :) )? And he looked at me like what rules? "Of course I'll sign it!"
