Now this is fucking badass. If these go to production I'm buying one.

It does look sweet. :D

The question to me is, have they addressed their pricing compared to their competition (the Mustang?) The Camaro/Firebird were always way cooler but you had to cough up significantly more cash to get one than a Mustang....hence poor sales.....

The Corvette also needs to ride the retro trend, and also get back to its real roots -- an AFFORDABLE American sports coupe........

Dodge is also doing a Challenger concept that looks like an updated 70-74. Same lines and everything, not anything dumb like how Ford bastardized the new Mustang. Oh I believe that they will be wanting $42k or thereabouts for the new camaro but its supposed to be a performance only deal, no baseline cheapo models.

But that's the problem, they should have learned the first time around not to price themselves out of their biggest target market. The Mustang stomps all over the Camaro/Firebird in sales because young kids can actually buy one.

Look at how well the GTO is selling....no lesson learned there? It's certainly not priced at 42K either........

Yeah I know. I vowed never to buy another Chrysler product after they sold out to Daimler, but that challenger was designed and built in California by Americans. If it goes to production Im likely to pick that up over the Camaro. Ill try to find the link to the video on it.

Here is the Challenger link:

OK, I'm no Mopar guy but that Challenger is just fuckin' sweet. Now if they could just get the engine size right.....to the musclecar guys when you say "Hemi" you mean 426 cubic inches (OK, there's a special place in the hearts of us old-fashioned rodders for the old 50's 352 Hemi's too, but that's not the legend they were banking on of late with all their Hemi marketing anyway.) 6.1 is closer than 5.7, but not quite there kids; isn't that only about 380 cubes?

Last time I looked which was when they came out with the new Hemi for the trucks I want to say it was 341ci, so that means its the small 318 with Hemi heads and slugs. But who knows, I think that whatever they put in it as long as it wasn't undersized for the car it would rule. Hell they should do an upgrade Hemi package using the Magnum block (360). Would smoke every US made 8cyl.

Shit while we are at it, Mopar performance still makes the 440 aluminum block. Take that and use the Stage V aftermarket Hemi heads, pistons, and crank, and it would easily be close to a 600hp machine stock. The 426 was what 375hp using pump gas back then?

The 375hp rating was supposedly horribly understated to keep Mr. Insurance guy off your case, which may have adversely affected sales if you couldn't afford to insure the car.

When I saw the article about the new camaro, I was stoked. But I will never part with my 2000 Camaro SS. I changed out the exhaust with the SLP 4 pipe Loud Mouth, SLP lid, subframe connectors, shock tower brace, 80mm throttle body, high flow bellows, and head and cam package. Makes about 425 hpr. This car is a monster! It's a real Mustang and Corvette killer.
