Re: Meet Reggie - a Franky for the Street
see if this link works.
Super fun show, great venue, great to have some EVH mojo on Sammy's stage. think he's actually there this week before a local show. hope he feels some of Eric's vibe on his stage

Thanks to Eric for christening Reggie #2 properly. I think the EVH franky pup works pretty well for a new option to the 1300.

Re: Meet Reggie - a Franky for the Street
That was a fun night, thanks for making the trek! Yeah that EVH pup certainly is a nice replacement if you can't locate a MM1300. Couple things on the video...
1. This was the slaved setup, so the Peavy 60/60 classic is behind my amp.
2. I was also running the EP-3 Pre pedal and the Boss GE-7 (just the level)
3. Really liking the subtleness of the Phase 90 (R28 mod), seems like just the right amount
Note to self: the 'machine-gun' section is tough to tackle after a couple of tequilas

Re: Meet Reggie - a Franky for the Street
the key is to distract the guy supplying the tequila until AFTER Eruption...

Simple mod for block logo phase 90 to help mellow out the distorted mids during the sweep.

The R28 mod was so easy, a noob like me did it. The only thing that may have been added with the mod was getting a little bit of hiss.YMI5150? wrote:Simple mod for block logo phase 90 to help mellow out the distorted mids during the sweep.

Killer Eric ! Dude you wailed on them folks
. Its NOT everyday (or year) that people get to go and hear a guy get THAT close in tone and playing to the most famous amp of all time

Re: Meet Reggie - a Franky for the Street
From listening to that Eruption clip with Reggie #2, as compared to the one you did from the spring with Reggie #1, I'd say that the Frankenstein PU in #2 is a tad more furry and softer in the mids than the MM 1300 in Reg #1,and the 1300 has a touch more sizzle in a crunchy, tight kind of way. Its sort of hard to compare though from these clips though, and the fact that its two guitars (though essentially same spec). Again, killer clip

Re: Meet Reggie - a Franky for the Street
I would say that's a fair judgement. its very subtle. the low e and a strings are so wicked tight with both guitars through that amp, and that's what jumps out the most. a treat to hear every time.
