RFT 12AX7 NOS NIB Good Deal on E-bay!
Saw this on Ebay and thought that some of you might be interested:
RFT 12AX7 BIN $39/pair. I got a pair and they are pretty good. I think TubeTramp sells them for $35 a piece (I'm not trying to start any trouble, just pointing out a deal..)

Compared to the new stuff it is better. A little brighter than the mullard and a little crunchier, at least in my circuit. But at $20 a pop for NOS glass, its worth it. I just checked the auction and they are all gone. Someone came and bought the last 5 pair. I bought three pairs for myself. Keep an eye out, he might put more on. This is the second set of 10 pairs that he listed in the last week, and they go fast. You could email him to see if is going to list more.

You found the RFT brighter than the Mullard? That's interesting, I've always found my RFT's slightly darker than Mullards.

I could have been the Mullard I was using. I had recently got a "Pulled" Mullard and threw it into the 1st position. Sounded good and quiet. I put in the RFT and it seemed to my ears to get a little more more aggressive/brighter. I'm new to all this NOS stuff and playing with tubes, so I am learning as I go.

I'm new to NOS stuff as well - been pretty much running some GE pre tubes that I pulled out of my JCM800, and JJ power tubes. I've got a recording project comming up next month so I've been ordering stuff to try... a pulled Mullard, a pulled Telefunken, and these RTFs (thanks for the heads up!)
I'm scared to buy NOS power tubes... big money... big risk.
