Siemens EL34

Post by Bad Kitty » Tue Feb 28, 2006 11:05 pm

I'm about to take the plunge into NOSland.
Any opinions on NOS Siemens EL34's?
Is $198 a good price?

I got two GE JAN 5751's for $15 a piece.
Never settle for an amp thats smaller then you are.

It's an OK price for a quad. There are some on ebay for less.

I have a couple GE 5751's, I love that tube...

Thanks.
I saw these on Tejas Tubes. From what I read they have 30% less gain which should work out good when I get the power scaling put in. Plus the price seemed really good.

The whole Ebay thing doesn't really apeal to me.

Ebay wouldn't let me message him since I only just registered. I'll try again in a couple of days. I put a bid in on some for $125. We'll see.

Thank you :D

Agreed, too High. Hi-Test in NJ has them for $120 or $125 a matched Quad. I think he takes Paypal (you'd have to ask.) and he takes cash, check, Money Order, NO Credit Card. If you want, I can dig up the number when I get home. He also advertises in Vintage Guitar Magazine.

I just got a quad of Mullard xf2's for $222, eBay. Tested close and very strong just as the guy described so I think they're too expensive as well.

If this tubes are the real RFT's and if I'd be in your shoes, I even would buy a couple quads. These tubes are killer and the price is a present.

Larry

If it's the following link, then they're real RFT's!

The fault almost always is sitting in front of the amp

Those are the RFT/Siemens. Thats Angela Instruments (www.Angela.com), you can call them and order them. I always found there shiping to be a little high on items. Hi-test is still a few dollars cheaper.
