Fully agree with you, but it is the first three I always find myself being brought back to over and over. My 8 y/o daughter would have to say IV, Houses of the Holy, and II in that order. She is a HUGE Zeppelin freak. Yes she has a crush on the young Plant too.Trigger wrote:Phew, that's a tough one! I hear a lot of folks - not on this forum, tho - that say stuff like "Zep's first three were great" or "Just the first five" but I have this feeling that those people mostly repeat someone else and haven't got a clue they're leaving 'Houses Of The Holy' and 'Physical Graffiti' out. Blasphemy.
Ahem.
My top three (with my fav tracks):
- Physical Graffiti (Custard Pie & The Wanton Song);
- III (Immigrant Song & Celebration Day);
- IV (Black Dog & When The Levee Breaks).

There was a local band called Zebra that did Zep covers to nth degree. Some say they did Zep live better then Zep!! Anyway the lead singer / guitar player Randy Jackson used to sing AND play Celebration Day. I was always impressed with that.Necrovore wrote:Fully agree with you, but it is the first three I always find myself being brought back to over and over. This is a very difficult question to answer for me. I don't know if I can pick just 3 to be honest.
Led Zep 1
Physical Graffiti
Led Zep 2
Those are as of today..it'll change next week.
I think I should mention that the most listened to Led Zep item in my house is actually the Led Zeppelin DVD. I still get goose bumps watching the Royal Albert Hall performance.

Why is it we can remember where all the wires go, but can never find a pick?

I agree with most of you guys.
#1 Physical Graffiti
I couldn't decide on 2 and 3. But I dig them all. PG was so deep with material. That was one of my 1st albums. Dad loved Kashmir. He used to make us sit in the car and listen to the whole thing when it came on the radio as we were parking.
Ten Years Gone, The Rover, Down By the Seaside, and Wanton are my favs.
