Rhythm/Lead PPIMV

Post by flemingmras » Tue Nov 16, 2004 12:21 pm

Here is a circuit I designed that allows you to have 2 Post Phase Inverter Master Volumes(PPIMV), one for rhythm and one for lead. Then you can footswitch between the two without interrupting the bias to the power tubes.

The circuit requires:

2 470Kohm Resistors
2 500K Dual Ganged Pots
1 4Pole Double Throw Relay(available at Radio Shack)
1 Single Pole Double Throw(SPDT) Relay(Radio Shack)
1 Double Pole Double Throw(DPDT) Carling Footswitch w/enclosure
2 Dual Color LEDs/LED Mounting Rings
2 1K Resistors
2 Stereo Jacks

Anyone interested in performing this mod but needs assistance they can email me or I can post step by step instructions on the mod.

To download it to your computer so it's easier to see, right click on the "Download" link and select "Save Target As". Then select it to save to the desktop and click OK. Then you'll be able to view the file a lot better than you can here.

You'll also have to run the relay off of a DC supply of 12 Volts. Also, the footswitch cable will have to be a stereo cable as well.

See, to my way of thinking, you need the PPIMV for rhythm, but then all you need to do is bypass it to let 'er rip for solo time......bar owner won't mind......

You know, if I could get away with that Flames I would, but unfortunately I haven't met a bar owner who wasn't anal retentive about volume yet!

There was a bar my last band played every month like clockwork, the owner didn't give a crap how loud it was as long as the beer was flowing heavily. And with a core audience of the singer's med school class......IT DID. 8) 8) 8)
Most of the time you aren't that lucky. A different club in town (the only one that would let those clowns Slipknot play, and that was even before one of their bandmembers bought it!) had a monstrous PA that the soundman claimed he couldn't balance out with my 50 watt Marshall. Yeah, right, jack.

If its not loud enough to feel your amp's output when you are playing on stage you are not loud enough.
