Told my son he would get $100 for 50 pushups

Post by mightymike » Sun May 21, 2006 5:28 pm

I have a super kid.

I gave him the $100 challenge a year ago, and he finally did it today at the age of 12.
Right when I'm broke, and in between jobs. He'll get it out of the KLON money when it clears from paypal.

He gets straight A's in school, has multiple girls calling night and day, as is in the gifted class no less.
He can play the latest Chili Peppers Song, and all the Green day stuff
on guitar, and has natural timing and pitch, and plays the sax, and reads music. I better get him some lessons, he's only been playing a year.
I hope he passes me up soon, so I can steal his licks.

Now he's begging me to let him build an amp, so I'm gonna let him run my heater wires on my next amp,
He already knows the testing procedure for first fire ups, cause he fills out the Voltage charts I've made, and has watched me build amps, and trouble shooting proceedure.

Next I'll let him wire a kit, but I'll solder, and do any live testing.
I don't want him sniffing solder, getting burnt, or shocked.

My wife must have cheated, cuz I was a friggin horn dog juvenile delinquent at his age.
How did I get this lucky? My younger son has a lot to live up to now.

Ok Bragging over.

Hey I have 999 posts now, just like the mark of a Dyslexic Satanist.

Hey!! Congratulations!!! :D
Sounds like a great kid.
Nothing wrong with being a proud Papa.
I'm a proud Uncle to my 12 yr old nephew, he struggles in school, but he just made the honor roll, and he's an AWESOME Hockey player! 8)

There's nothing better than a great comeback.
I hear you on the Hockey. My family enjoys watching our kids play sports more than watching the pros. :D

After reading OnTheFritz's post, I have to brag too.
Here in South California we have some great youth hockey programs with some awesome little players. I too am the proud uncle of a real standout player. Incredible skill for an 11 -year old. And one of his first words was Yzerman!

I also have two boys who are top notch students and are getting into guitar/music. It seems alot of the kids today are listening to the classic rock that we grew up with.

I think there is a bright future for both hockey and rock-n-roll.

For a hundred bucks, I'd have him bring and extra girlfriend home.
