Me and the FATHER OF LOUD
Hi forum i have never shown ny of youu guys this picture because i was embarassed that you guys would take the piss outt of a 14 year old being 1 of you tone perfectionists.
For those new members who don't know me my name is John I am 14 and the youngest person registered on this forum.
George and Jon knew my age before all of u guys and they pushed me on to tell you and they were amazed that there are young teenage rockerz out there who weren't all in to shitty modeler amps, amps that have digital effects which I CAN'T STAND!! I will admit i use an analougue tech 21 double drive because i use clean sounding vintage transistor amps fae the 1970's which I love to bits. I have a marshall super bass as you lucky guys will see again i don't use that often because it is 2 loud 4 ma hoose and i don't have a 4x12 4 it yet. As a teenager I am often skint I can't afford 1 of these shit hot plexi kits yet but when i do ( in the next couple of years) I am gonna buy 1!!!!!!!
1ce i have built it and i am playin if all the sexy chicks ask me where i got the amp i will say I AM PART OF THE PLEXI ARMY!! and hold my head high and proud.
Back to the topic this pic was taken of me and the FATHER OF LOUD on the 23rd of June 2004 at his road show in Thurso near where I live. My dad does a lot of camcorder work so he videod it and got us in 4 free. Jim Marshall gave me and my dad his address how fuckin cool is that. If any1 has any messages they would like to send to him please tell me over msn messenger or yahoo msnger

right on!
Nice picture! I wish I could say that I was that hip to what cool gear was (or even who Jim Marshall was) when I was 14, but I'm afraid I was just a clarinet and harmonica player then!

how did i get into vintage gear you say
I was at the 42 anniversary marshall road show listening to all the modern amps but what really caught me at the time were the vintage reissue and tv cab.
I always wanted a new amplifier but my folks wouldn't let me so i went on the hunt 4 an amplfier in my house under a table i found a H/H 2 channle head and in the cupboard behind my freezer i found my marshall jmp super bass which my dad was keeping for me
and the rest is history. I have gear similar to what my dad owned.used and dreamed of when he was young
A couple of months ago i found a pair of 2x12 pa cabs under the stairs. smuggled them up when he was in the bath and when he was still asleep
Had a crazy idea used them to hold up a shelf with all my gear on it which u guys saw before and i opened the speaker cabs recently to find that they were Rola Celestion G12Ms how amazing is that.
if ny 1 has more qs jst ask

I didn't wake him up to the sound of an amplfier. I was shiting my self
incase he cought me but he didn't. He just liked the shelf with the gear and "how it kept my bedroom tidy"
You know where i got the idea to get a gibson sg pro. My dad told me about a guitar his brother James had in the 70's with a bigsby and 2 P90s. I wanted a lespaul custom but that was about £2000 about $4000 so i found ebay.com accidentaly found the guitar i wanted for $560 $680 with shipping to the United Kingdom and it was here in a week un damaged. If i were to buy the same sg pro made in 1970 here in Scotland it would set me back £1000 $2000 dollars because they are so rare..
ANY Q'S ask me

You're getting a good start. Keep at it! Someone needs to remind people what a real guitar tone is!
I think my wife would go crazy if we lived in a "magic gear appearing flat" (although I wouldn't be surprised if she thought we already did!).
Keep rocking!

Yes i've heard of WEM. Real vintage stuff there. I've seen them in old Led Zeppelin/Hendrix footage.johniss0001 wrote:shane i love the title "magic gear appearing flat" have any of u guys heard of a british company called WEM ( watkins electric music) my dad told me about a thing called a wem copicat which you could nail the sound of the shadows with he had 1 but the motor was buggered he told me his 1 was worth £300 or $600 i got 1 outta the scotads for £50 and my dad was absolutely amazed i got 1 tht cheap ( the black case on the shelf if u look @ my beastly rig page)
