See, no argument for that one. And she's a pooch to boot.
Not like that "Guitar Player" Allison Robertson cover. RROOOOWWWRRR baby, just wish she could play.....guitar. (Maybe she can, I haven't gotten past the pics to read the article yet. )

But back to topic, I haven't seen Billy Gibbons come up yet either, that boy is twisted...... 8) 8)

Jake Lee is a fav of mine. He didn't really break any new ground but is mix of blues with Hard rock is very cool in my book. His stuff with Ozzy was nothing great but his work with Badlands kicks ass. His tone was also very cool. Pretty much a straight into a Marshall type sound. Not to mention having Ray Gillen on vocals, that guy could really sing.

Other cool players.

Johnny Winter
Eric Sardinas
Joe Bonamassa
Angus Young
John Petrucci

Badlands is DA SHIT!!! HANDS DOWN!!!

Ray Gillen's lead vocal abilities are unsurpassed while Jake E Lee's blues flavored hard rock fuckin' RULE!!! LOVE that tune "Ball & Chain" on their first album, and "Heaven's Train", "Joe's Blues", and "Soul Stealer" are some of their best ones!

Jon

P.S. How about Reb Beach? I feel he was SEVERELY underrated and ridiculed along with Winger. Their last album, Pull, had some heavy ass shit on it!

Jake E. Lee was the shit all right. I miss him putting out music.

What member of Winger wasn't ridiculed simply because of pretty-boy Kip's mugshot everywhere? Reb could rock.

Probably my all time favorite guitarist is Mike Torrao. He was the main guitarist/songwriter for my favorite metal band, Possessed.
After that I would say Gary Holt of Exodus. His lead off the song No Love on their first lp is the best metal Whammy lead I have heard to this day.

Let me throw in Jason Broderick of Godflesh in here too.

You guys seem to have forgotten Freddie King. EC ripped him of big time. Another monster of his day, Peter Green. Old FleetwoodMac kicks ass.

Kinda surprised there's been no mention of Gary Moore.
"Blues Alive" is amazing. His version of "The Sky is Crying" is worth the price of the CD.
He did a CD about 10 years ago with Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker called BBM that has some good stuff as well.

The only songs I liked by Gary Moore are "Ready For Love", which I believe he did back in the 80s, and "Rectify". I've got a live cut of Rectify and it fuckin' ROCKS!!!

Gary Moore is a very good guitar player, but he's a little stiff for my tastes. Plus he seems pretty derivative when he's playing blues.

I'd go with Warren Haynes for a contemporary Blues/Rock player. I'd don't think anyone can touch him, except some of the older guys.

Beck vs. Hendrix? Beck, no question!
