The one thing that may be weird is the solo tones clashing with the track and with eachother since everybody is recording them separately.

Ill try to adjust accordingly so things dont get all mushed up...
update: when you send your files over make sure you name it with your user name so when is finally gets posted Ican inform everyone who's solo is who's
just send them in high quality mp3 192k or higher... thanks
update2: process your tracks the way you want them(reverb, delay, etc)

Oh man, you may have to add a fourth week if you're going to make me figure out an mp3 encoder.....if I even have one!!! Any common programs I might already have encode mp3's?

What will you be recording with? you should be able to export or dump to a mp3 and if you cant a wave will be just fine...

The original version of Sonar XL.........I'll get cracking as soon as I can and see if it will do the conversion. But I now have a funeral to attend this week to slow me down further.

August, how do I save that track to my machine.........or did you want us to send the raw unaccompanied solo track for you to layer over the top of the backing tracks?

This sounds like fun, but where do you want everyone to throw their lead break in? Or is that what you are going to do with it? From what I understand is that we are to play for one segment of the chugging rhythm and one segment of the chorus rhythm right? Then you will fit them in where you see best or what?

It actually may be best to clarify that, since the original kinda has lead over the chorus rhythm but everyone seems to start their next solo segmant on the "chugging" rhythm as Nec put it. It makes a big difference in how you phrase, and with no countoff I tend to hear it as a four bar lead in and then start your lead on the "chug"..........
Are we difficult or what?
No problem importing that mp3 into Cakewalk, August -- just gotta get a mic sound and let her rip!!! Haven't gotten far enough to see if I can master it to mp3 but I'd think so if I can import.
Trying to resist the urge to pull out a boost since this is a little heavier than I play much anymore!!! But I'd rather hear just the amp and guitar.

A friend of mine in across the pond in Finland did something like this once and what we did was each do full length takes, then he just spliced the best parts into 12 bar sections.

Once youve recorded a couple of the segments just send them to me and I'll insert them in the master track . remember I dont need the backing track just you segments...
