Hi all,

Just curious what are your favorite snare sound or sounds?

If posting perhaps it can done as follows;

Additional Info: Producer - Mutt Lange, Engineer - Nigel Green?, Ludwig Black Beauty afaik. This sound almost set an 80s/90s standard at one point.

I hear ya. Sort of why I didn't list Bonham as well because it was just about everything for me too.

I think for me as well, his kick drum was bad ass...almost better than his snare.

It's hard to find much stuff later than '80 that you can guarantee you're hearing the real snare hit instead of replaced sounds.........

Old KISS records...Peter Criss.....good call. Not the flashiest guy out there but I always liked what he did.

Steve Gorman, Black Crowes.

The "By Your Side" Album.

Top marks for his Bonham Snare sound on that album. In fact, top marks for his whole drum sound on that record. Just perfect.

ALSO......Denny Carmassi on the Coverdale/Page album, specifically the track "Absolution Blues"

Both great snare sounds. Check em out!
