I'm sure he wasn't smoking/shrooming and driving. He has a driver. He pays his taxes, and brings joy to a lot of people with his music. He hurts nobody with his drug use. I hope this doesn't get him locked up...He 73; it could be a death sentence for him, while people like Johm Mark Karr are only looking at 5 years prison for having Child Porn. Where's the justice..??

He and his buddies were given tickets and let go. The article I read sounded like it was over. By the way he is paying his taxes now that is probably why they let him go.

Willie has been one of the most vocal pot smokers out there, and I heard him say in an interview, that when he quit drinking, smoking joints, helped him to go to sleep!
Good for you Willie, now buy my friggin 1954 Martin 00-28G,so you can pluck a hole in it,it's just the guitar for you! :D
Seriously, trade one addiction for another,I am not a Betty Ford type, believe me,but when I hear the 'pot' reasoning,I know, been there, done that, fun at the beginning, but no fun later for me.
Plus I have people's lives literally in my hands,at my job,so the clean life,is the best for me.
There are so many closet pot smokers, through all walks of life,so leave Willy alone,he is an American original, lol!!

If they're gonna have Alchohol and Cigarette legal, then Pot should be legal or at least decrimminalized. Treat it like Alchohol. 21 to smoke or buy, no DUI would still apply.

1) Cigarretes are worse for your lungs, they're filled with artificial chemicals, and manipulated growing techniques to deliver tho most nicotine possible. There was a recent story in the news where researchers noticed that nicotine levels in cigarretes have been on the rise over the last few years. http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=u ... s&ie=UTF-8 Sure Pot has been maiplulated to increase THC, but Pot doesn't cause lung cancer. It was all over the news recently. Here's just one story from that time.

2) Alcohol can cause liver problems, can make people violent, and is much worse if your driving. I know everyone says your reflexes are slower with pot, but think about it. How many people die from Pot smoker driving verses drinkers who drive. There's millions of people smoking pot, where's all the pot smoking driving deaths?

I'm not advocating for POT smoking. All I'm saying is there are other thing that are worse, but legal.
