older MXR 10- band (blue box)

Post by tonejones » Fri Nov 10, 2006 1:01 am

Hey everybody,
I lucked into an old blue MXR 10-band graphic today for $35. I guess you'd still call it a pedal, even though there's no on/off switch

It's the one that has the AC chord, so no battery eating!!!!!

I was wondering if anybody knew of which resistors to replace to make it a tad bit quieter (metal film/silver mica)?????

Thanks in advance.....
Let's get going, 'cause there's too much music, too little time!!!!

Mine is extremely quiet unless you start boosting levels halfway between full on and the mid-way notch. even then you have to get most of the sliders in that area to be noisy. I have the schematic for it somewhere if you need it. I would start checking all the caps and resistors and see if any have slid out of spec. One or more of the IC's might be bad as well and perhaps need to be replaced. Might want to take a trip over to DIYstompboxes.com and ask someone over there what to check.
