Speaking of Amplitube, does anyone know how to configure it so you can hear the guitar tone through your PC's speakers? I plugged it into the sound card and nothing. For the time being I switched it to the mic input, although I can't hear it when I record, only on playback.
Is GuitarPort is scaled down version of the POD XT Live?

i have a pod pro xt - its oudns exactly teh same - infact you cna load both with teh same exact sounds - the advantage of pod pro xt is there are more out options then the guitar port has.

That about sums it up for me. Am I going to really get into the tone of the PODxt and Bassxt on the UX2? No. Am I going to do radio ready studio recordings? No. But I will have some fun and I wont be putting hours on NOS tubes and worrying about warming up and the all around hassles of a 100W amp whenever I get the urge to just play a little bit. But theres no substitute for the raw tone of a 100Wer. Plus I can finaly make clips!

I have never used Amplitube as a stand alone, there used to be another program that was similar that one could use like that. I have only seen Amplitube as a DX effect and later as a VST instrument.npminard wrote:Thanks for the response rockstah. I'm using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 which I believe they don't make it anymore, Adobe picked it up and has a newer version. I'm running SoundMAX Digital Audio as the Sound Playback and Recording devices.
What you might want to try and do is set Amplitube up as one of your input effects on your guitar channel/track. I have also tried this but somehow it never really tracks right so you still get some playback latency, though the recording will be fine. What works best for me is to just use it as an outboard effect/instrument. Record straight in then use it as an effect overlay, so it will sound like Amplitube on playback.
Maybe Mark can chime in and give a suggestion that might help both of us out.

Thanks for the response Necrovore. That's actually what I've been doing. I go into the rack effects and select Amplitube from the DX menu. I then hear the tone of Amplitube on playback. I was using a friend's POD the other day when I began to wonder if my plugin would work like that, it would be more fun I think.Necrovore wrote:I have never used Amplitube as a stand alone, there used to be another program that was similar that one could use like that. I got my GuitarPort w/RiffTracker tonight and got it working with my Mac. Very useful tool! Definitely worth the cash, and will be a great aid to practicing, writing and arranging.

a great aid indeed- with these tools readily available you will improv as player.- congrats on your purchase man!
