I heard someone tell this guy that he could of sold it on eBay for the going buyers rate of $3.000 +.
He was found in his home dead with a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head...Can you say ... DUMBASS ?

Seems pretty unlikely, doesn't it? Can't be true. I mean, he collected donations to buy the thing, almost $700 in advance, just to smash it. He couldn't have sold it because of that commitment. These guys did the same thing with ipods in the past. It's a protest against this kind of geek-fanboy-hyper-consumerism, so I doubt a mere $3k would have set him off.

This PS is legitimately expensive as well. Its BluRay technology. Im almost positive of that. So, of coarse, it plays BR discs which AFAIK the cheapest players are still almost $1k. So the fact that this console is supposed to start at around $600 when its released stirred some controversy even though just for the HD movie player its a bargain at this point. As a video game system if you can afford to buy your kid a video game console for $600 then I know I wont like your kid already :) JK. But already theres supposed to be major long term reliability problems with this system just like PS2 when it first came out. So they say anyway :| Even when it drops to half that in a year or 2 its still more money then Id pay for video games. I remember when Nintendo being $100 seemed unattainable. That was 1986 tho.

Yes, Point well taken guys...
I just made that shit up because you really have to be a DUMBASS to do that. Even Gallagher the comedian wouldn't have done that.
He could of used that dough to get me my next Metro Build AND a CS '59 LP...

Hell, I wasnt even disputing it? I thought it was funny. Darwin awards material.

Anyone see the trailers for Call of Duty 3? Jesus video games have come a long way. I grew up on the first Nintendo games. When I built my new PC I bought a few big FPS games to see what it was like and I was kocked out by the intensity and realism of some of these games. Even the tiniest nuances.

Yeah! fosure. Those trailers are Killer even moreshow how the dub the sound over the action scenes....

Their are $5,000+ video cards out there that Game designers use to put that "realism in there.

An exhibitor left one of those behind at the end of a trade show. A friend & CoWorker of mine ran over it with a scooter by accident
because it blended in with all the garbage that was left behind. As he wondered what the bump was he got off his scooter, picked up the card
and noticed he damaged the cooling system. He kinda knew what it was because it was a Radiology Show with
Super high Resolution graphics to blow up pictures of Brainwave patterns... Oh well from 5k to $50 bucks in a split sec.(heh, that was a nobrainer)

...Can't speak for our troops in their curent state (although have a good idea).
Had the real life version of that Call of Duty trailer down in Panama '88 U.S.M.C.
Making light of it , it was just like how you see it in the movies... Well, Cpl K. still here thankfully and building amps !

Sometimes I am almost embarrassed to be human. The world is getting sicker and sicker by the minute.

On another note. damn that PS3 took that beating well. I mean a sledge hammer! I figured it would have shattered. Held together pretty well for a while. Or either that guy weilding the sledge is one super pussy.

Gonna buy my PS3 next summer or fall! The ones they are releasing have problems and their still releasing them! There are suppose to be 200 older PS1 and PS2 games that won't play on the PS3. Well hell! My favorite games could be in that 200! Gonna wait till next year for Sony to work out the bugs and buy the 2nd revision or whatever when the problems are fixed.

If where lucky, the kid will go to school, brag to eveyone about how his rich/stupid parents are spoiling the shit out of him, and some poverty stricken(sounds like a musician in the making) kid who got lego's and playdoe for christmas will beat the wholly hell out of him.

If a BluRay player cant read discs that are based on CD then DVD technology its a real problem and they shouldnt release it yet. If your willing to pay $600 for a device that isnt finished just to get it first you should be the one getting smashed by that sledge.

I loved Legos. Im sure at this place Im not alone when I say logs and erector sets of all kinds were a favorite as a kid. Playdo would dry on the outside and crack up. Making it useless. I was always pissed.

I think there are a few issues. First, people hold Sony Playstation stuff to a higher standard than Microsoft. Second XBOX 360 still has problems with some XBOX games but then again their not Sony so people over look the XBOX 360 flaws. third at $600 that fucker better work like a fine swiss watch!
