7h choke too "small" for 100 watt?

Post by 45auto » Tue Dec 19, 2006 9:26 am

hey guys, does anybody remember a thread in here stating something to the effect that the choke on the infamous evh 12 series was replaced with one out of a 50 watter? i ordered a 7h (JT45C-7H) from VG to replace my 3.3h mm that is almost a little tooo gritty. i got the thing yesterday jeez it looks like a sugar cube compared to the mm! will it be ok to drop in there?

VG gave me the ok to try it. i just unsoldered the MM 3.3h & tacked the 7h in it's place & set it in the chassis carefully! fortunately the leads were long enough to keep it down in the input end. it softened it up maybe slightly, but not enough to change it out.
