Sunday I'm going to put in George's OT C1998 in my 1959slp. My question is what is the safest way to drain the blue cap that in under the pcb board? Is it safe to unscrew the bolts loosening the board to get slack and then drain. Or lossen the cap itself and drain from the other side when it comes out. I bought an Xicon 10W 5% High Oh
25Kohms to drain across the blue caps. I checked the wire colors tonight and they seem to be in the same spots and colors as this Dagnal C2668 OT in there. What readings can I do along the way to make sure everything is soldered in correctly? Thanks.

Simply clip pin 1 from V1 to ground and wait a minute, then all your caps are drained. But leave the crocodile clip there while working, because caps are 'rememberring' their previous voltage and ungrounded will be creepinp up again to about 70...100V
And don't forget to remove the crocodile before firing up the amp again, otherwise your plate resistor will die

The fault almost always is sitting in front of the amp
