You know, I think he practices alot, but connects very little. He isnt very "Musical". Bumblefoot is better at that "What can I do that hasnt already been done" type stuff. When younger players hear stuff like that, it only impresses them until they see how eay it is to play like that. The ones who commit themselves fully ,start to pick up more on "Musicality".I think Hendrix and Van Halen are still so popular ,due to thier "Musicality".They truley hit at that invisible umbilical cord that connects us all to that universal source.

yeah, and they wrote good overall songs to showcase their chops. Chop for chops sake is impressive for a few minutes but a good song sticks in your head.

He's got extreme talent that I've never seen before but ...., DOES HE EVER SLOW DOWN!

I'm pretty sure everyone here will agree a true musician likes variety. In phrasing and in his choice of music.

I'm kinda torn on this guy as he has incredible dexterity. I'm not sure if it's for his ego to show people he can play alot of different stuff with apparent easeor just because he loves playing fast (people criticized Ynvie and Vai, among others, for the same thing back in the day). I see him as more of a studio guitarist than a great songwriter.

I did see him play on one of the ill fated G'NR reunion tours. He did the work but let's face it it's not the same, to me anyway, as seeing Slash play it.

He needs an image makeover IMO. I mean what is with that rediculous mask and the KFC bucket on his head???
