Funny you added that about the glue, cause I was thinking to make it a "set neck" I'd just glue it in addition to the bolts. Sans bolts would be a much cleaner look.

You may have to sand a bit to clear of the paint that comes over the side of the body into the pocket a bit. Same if you get a finished neck. Youd have to carefully sand the bottum and sides that fit into the pocket but its not that hard.
