anyone that understands the language. you would have to be tone deaf ( well maybe not i guess) to not hear that GL had been listening to yngwie earlier that day! but easy to see how yngwie inspired george.
George had already been using some of the similar musical devices( phrygian, harmonic minor, (seven note scales )dimished arpeggios and similiar chord movement ect.) to express himself.
but like most guitar players of that time, that had just begun to touch on that stuff, was floored and fueled, so to speak, by yngwie coming on the scene ( i know i was) and showin peoples how it was done.
so again in the video here there is a clear indication of how much Yngwie influenced George Lynch.

You Know Dave the only one turning this into a Malmsteen topic is you! Nobody asked you to shove your 2 cents down anybodys throat.. Mark was simply making a statement.. Lynch could have been easily listening to Tony McCalpine also .. Which GL did appear on One of his Albums at the time...
Just because someone states that you can hear an Influence doesent give you the right to dog them out because YJM doest get the PR you think he should.... Save it for the Malmsteen topics only that you have created for yourself....

listening to him play... in the clip i heard lynch and i heard yngwie.. nothing else... i explained it in my previous post. sorry you disagree.

further more you need to work on your ear. im not going to get in a pissing match with you. i stand behind what i say. hell, if anything i was giving yngwie props and slamming GL if anything.
do some pushups or something.

Mark

Check this clip out, George Lynch fucking smokes 8) He's got it all in my opinion, the shred, the blues-on-steriods, and passages that are quite harmonious. Great phrasing
