Kewl!...I'll check it out tonite...I'll also put up some samples soon as well...I am obsessed with the engineering part of how Landee got that sound....
..The one thing I know is that using two 57's came make things harder to blend...I also know that there can be no way they put a 57 right down the cone if they were only using one mic -- had to be offset or angled facing the cone angle...for Fair Warning, I am thinking if they used on 57, it must have been angled somewhere facing the paper between the cone and rim

Yeah the engineering part isn't discussed enough. While most try to nail the sound with a straight recording, we have to have in mind that what we hear on the records might have a good bit of EQ and compression. Also recorded through old custom API micpreamps, recorded to tape, and mixed and mastered to tape as well.
Not to mention 70's SM57's.
As soon as I can afford it I'm going to build a preamp or two from Classicapi.com

Totally stock!

One thing that gets talked about when using slave amps is congruency against the dry cab. Even Steve Stevens stated that even with the HH's the wet side cabs never aounded "exactly" like the dry center cab but the matrix had solved this issue finally.
I think with such a cheap load method and the source of all audio being that line out its gonna be about as congruent as one is gonna get. Plus the way the power and volume is so manageable it begs the question-who needs a 4x12 anymore??
I am seeing some 3 ultra portable 1x12's in the future. Or one 3x12 cab divided into three compartments. F'n exciting to think about! So 1 4x12 with all nice expensive greens can be the donor with a spare on hand out of the batch left over. Way cheaper than say buying 2-4 times as many scum or blackbacks.....and you'll have the full wdw system.
I gotta boner for that matrix so hard the cat can't scratch it

Micro rig sized ASSKICKER that can go virtually anywhere! Also cheaper for the rest of the bands p.a. size to compete with your blaring unbridled old 4x12s resulting in a way better stage mix.
Are you able to get natural sounding old school traditional hendrix inspired feedback through the system as it is now??
Yeah, having a compact asskicking w/d/w rig is certainly a goal of mine, and if I could pull that off with 3 1x12" it would be fantastic. The three channel Matrix would be killer for this!
Now 25watt greenbacks might live a bit too dangerous in such a system, I think I'd use some 65watt scumbacks to be on the safe(r) side.
I'll check on the feedback tonight.
