Thanks for your advice...

What is your main guitar that you play continuously?

I play all my guitars in rotation, my favorites are my '57 Reissue Strat, my Washburn SS80, my Goldtop, YJM. :)

Want to add the YJM to the family. But cant choose between the Sonic Blue or the Vintage White. Being a Designer l am more fussy.

Might need to just collect them.

Yngwie308 did you find a difference in tone between Rosewood and Maple board?

Yngve, I haven't played a rosewood board YJM ever, in fact the only YJM I have ever played is mine which I had to special order, they are as rare as hens teeth, even in the States.
All RW boards have a darker more mid ranged sound, whereas maple is bright sounding, with more emphasis on the treble range.
I love RW boards on certain years, my first guitar was a 1965 Transition logoed Strat with a beautiful RW board. But ever since then, maple has been my preference.
As I suggested a YJm could be ordered from Fender through Guitar Center in the States, even with US tax , would be cheaper. What is the import duty in Australia and how are they on a guitar imported by an individual as opposed to through a dealer there?

Gee l didnt know Malmsteen Strat are rare even in USA, we are lucky they are still producing them, wonder how much units they build a year?

How to find out on the import tax unless you send it to me like a second hand item and see it as gift.

Spoke to the Fender Rep and asked the Price of the Custom Shop Malmsteen "Duck" and told me it will be around $30,000 AUS. Yikes! That enought for me to buy 11 Malmsteen Artist Strats!

Got two Yngwie Strats. love em both. The white I keep in e-flat and has a cool Jimi vibe to it.... the blue is tuned standard. Tons of clips of both on my SoundClick page-

carlygtr56 :-) even though they are tuned different key! Do they sound the same? Or is there a variation between the two, why l am asking is to see if the Fender Factory keeps there choice of woods close to make them all consistent.

I like the blue one :-)

which one is your Fav!

Someone told me that the larger Fender Headstock adds more sustain to the neck is this true?
I've got a bunch of 70s Strats. I'd say NO to that.

They are twins. As far as I'm concerned they sound the same or as close as two guitars can sound to each other.

A few years ago I owned a Candy Red/Maple Neck Yngwie. Pretty much the same.

No fav. They really are interchangable....but like I said.....maybe it's just me, but the white does the Jimi stuff cool and the blue the Blackmore type. Maybe it's the way I got them set up, but I woundn't switch the setups.

The both record real good thru whatever distortion units I use. Great guitars.

Very great indeed and very humble person... I Love it!

Just to show that the Malmsteen Strat is versatile and it up to you to do the rest.

Thanks for the link, very nice guy.

Also like his choices of youtube artists, very interesting. What would the world be like without musik?

God Bless us all who live for musik :D
