I bought the body on ebay from a dealer that I had bought from before.
I've had a love hate relationship with Telecasters for a long time.
I built two previously with single coil tele pickups and although I realize that a tele is supposed to be a bright, twangy guitar, I just never could adapt to one.
I've pretty much been a Strat guy for a long time and have built three of those in various configurations. Usually with a humbucker in the bridge.

Anyway, this newest one was routed for P90 pickups and I thought I had to try it.
This has a Allparts TRO-C neck tinted and finished with Tru Oil gunstock finish.
I really like that stuff for necks. Easy to use and provides the slickest feeling finish I have tried.
The body has a quilted maple top with a two piece alder back.
I stained the body with Vintage Amber and a medium brown dye.
Finish is Deft nitro gloss lacquer.
Hipshot hardtail bridge.
Gotoh staggered tuners (no tree!)
The P90's are Toneriders Hot P90's and are wired to a 4 way switch.
.047uf paper in oil tone cap.
1) Bridge
2) Bridge & Neck in Parallel
3) Neck
4) Bridge & Neck in Series for a fat almost humbucker tone
I finally like a Telecaster!
These pickups sound great and the 4th switch position is great.
