got my first nos mullard el34's

got some xf2's - jesus! just like george describes, clean, headroom, warm, greasy, bloom, well worth it, i reckon i got em cheap, a quad for $230, waaaaaay superior to anything else I've tried. I'm totally stoked!

Just remember, Dan, in a year when a quad of Mullards cost them $1000 and they can't hear anything else they like, you'll still be able to buy a set of power tubes without a 60 month personal loan....... :wink:

Well, the amps I'm loving right now need KT66's anyway, not EL34's. And as bad as Mullard EL34 prices are, GEC KT66's are far worse.......

Got 'em from a hifi dealer on ebay in the uk, he hadn't tested them but after talking to him on the phone I thought it was worth taking a chance and i'm glad i did they were perfectly matched and tested brand new so guess i was lucky. gonna get some more for sure though. I've had jj el34ls, gt6ca7ge's, gt and va kt66's but these are THE best.

If you NEED real KT66's I know that Tube Tramp just got a bunch from the UK. Supposedly all unused stuff. They look real nice in the pictures.
I'll be able to give a first hand review very soon.
Just don't ask my paypal account what it thinks of them....
