I popped a bunch into my modded '68 Bassman this weekend and was very impressed with the smooth overdrive and honking midrange punch I was getting from my modded Bass channel, running a 250uF cathode bypass cap on the first stage, SoZo .022's in the tone stack, a SoZo .68 for the second stage cathode bypass cap, and SoZo .022 and .1uF couplers throughout. The stock AA864 Normal channel sounds great through the SoZo couplers as well, but I left the Fender blue molded caps in the tone stack on the Normal side. I also still have the 500pF coupler into the PI, but it may go shortly.
Give these a shot in your Fenders, you'll be pleased!!
